Serious Aircraft Incident At Cork Airport

There has been a serious incident at Cork Airport  on Thursday, February 10 morning

An accident occurred as a Manx2 aircraft en route from Cork City Airport to Cork Airport was attempting to land.

Fire crews immediately responded to the incident and Cork Airport’s emergency plan was instigated.

Cork Airport has been closed as a result of the incident.

The aircraft was carrying 10 passengers and two crew members. Unfortunately there have been six fatalities as a result of the incident and six survivors have been taken to hospital.

Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) Chairman David Dilger said that he was deeply saddened to learn of this morning’s incident. “My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who have lost their lives and those injured. On behalf of the entire company, I wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the deceased.”
