The luxurious Royal Rajasthan on Wheels train takes you to the magnificent land of numerous kingdoms, majestic forts and palaces, diverse cultures, varied landscapes and vibrant colours. This royal journey begins in Delhi and takes you through erstwhile princely states of Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittor, Swai-Madhopur and Jaipur in Rajasthan. Visit the ancient magnificent temples of Khajuraho, an architectural genius, and the holy city of Varanasi on the banks of river Ganges before visiting Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is designed in a contemporary royal style with modern amenities, magnificent interiors and personalized service by the Khidmatgars (attendants). The 13 deluxe coaches have been named after the famous palaces of Rajasthan. The facilities include Internet & Satellite TV, Royal Spa and Wellness centre (Gym) facility; Channel music and safe deposit. Fully equipped bar and two restaurants serving Indian, Rajasthani, Chinese and continental cuisine.
Tour Itinerary
  • Day 1   Dublin to Delhi

    Depart Dublin overnight flight.

    Day 2   Delhi

    Meet and assist on arrival and transfer to The Oberoi hotel for an overnight stay.

  • Day 3   Delhi – Royal Rajasthan on Wheels

    Morning tour of Old and New Delhi. Afternoon transfer to the Railway station to begin the seven night luxurious train journey. Dinner on Board.

  • Day 4   Jodhpur

    Morning arrival in Jodhpur, the ‘Blue City’ at the entrance of the Thar Desert. Tour of the city visiting the magnificent Meharangarh fort with palaces and temples, housing a rich collection of palanquins, jewels and armory. Jaswant Thada, a 19th century royal cenotaph, an example architectural brilliance. Return to the train for your onward journey to Udaipur.

  • Day 5   Udaipur / Chittorgarh

    Arrive in the morning. After breakfast on board proceed for the city tour of Udaipur, the city interspersed with shimmering lakes, marble palaces and beautiful laid gardens. Visit the City Palace complex, a marvel of marble and granite with ornate windows and craftsmanship in glass. Lunch is followed by a visit to the crystal gallery. Return to the train and depart for Chittorgarh. Visit the Fort that still reverberates with stories of courage, chivalry, valor and sacrifices.

  • Day 6   Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambhor National Park) / Jaipur

    Early morning arrival in Sawai Madhopur. Morning wildlife safari at the Ranthambor National Park, a Project Tiger Reserve. The reserve is noted for daylight Tiger sightings. The other fauna includes Panther, Nilgai, Hyena fox, sloth bear, wild boar, marsh crocodile and variety of resident and migratory birds. Continue on to Jaipur, popularly known as the ‘Pink City’. Visit the Amber Fort with huge ramparts and watch towers. Sightseeing of the city visiting Hawa Mahal (The Palace of the Winds), City Palace complex housing centuries-old artifacts and Observatory. In the evening depart for Khajuraho.

  • Day 7   Khajuraho

    Arrive in the morning and visit the magnificent rock-cut Chandela temples, the evidences of an architectural geniuses, built between 950 -1050 AD and frequently depicting erotic themes. These temples were discovered by Captain T S Burt in 1838, though only 20 of them have survived. In the evening depart for Varanasi.

  • Day 8   Varanasi

    Morning arrival in Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities of the world situated on the banks of the holy Ganges. Also known as Kashi and Banaras, Varanasi has been a symbol of spiritualism, philosophy & mysticism for thousands of years & has produced great saints. Varanasi is the most popular pilgrimage for Hindus & center of music & learning. Sightseeing includes visit to temples, Ghats and a visit to Sarnath, where Buddha delivered his first sermon. Witness the Maha Aarti and in the evening depart for Agra.

  • Day 9   Agra

    Morning arrival in Agra. Breakfast on board. Proceed for the city seeing of Agra. Visit the immortal Taj Mahal, a poem in marble, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and Fort with several Palaces and Mosques including the largest pure marble mosque built by Mughal Kings. Agra is famous for handicrafts products such as Inlay work on marvel, leather work, footwear, brass-wear, carpets, Jewelry, Zari & embroidery work. Late in the evening depart for Delhi.

  • Day 10   Delhi

    Morning arrival in Delhi. Breakfast on board. Transfer to The Oberoi hotel for an overnight stay. Rest of the day at leisure perhaps by the pool of your hotel or for any independent exploration.

  • Day 11   Delhi to Dublin

    Transfer to the airport for your return flight with Jet Air, arriving Dublin in the evening.

    The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels train departs on every Sunday from Delhi.
